A hot humid and sticky Friday night saw a trio of us head to Sushi Tengoku (Sushi Heaven) for some big ass sushi. And by big, I mean HUGE!
The place reeked of seafood, was ten times more humid inside than out, and the only form of A/C were fans. Amazingly we all braved the temperature and smell to find out what all the fuss was about. A friend of ours also reminded us that this place did not offer any form of service and the sole reason to go test this place out was for the food. When he meant no service, he meant it! Everything was self serve, to the ordering of our dishes, to getting our own drinks and condiments… even dessert! Like I said, you are warned! The owners, which I suspect are a family, aren’t terribly friendly either.

Decor? Er… none.
Sweet and tasty broth with the shell of a scampi intact. Yum!
Salmon sushi ($3 each), Kaibashira (scallop sushi $3 each), scampi sushi ($5 each)
Mind you, the scallop sushi was more like… scallop sashimi on a tiny bed of rice. There were FOUR whopping scallops on the one bed of rice… count them, FOUR! See how massive the serving sizes are? Absolutely ridonculous, but I’m not one to complain!
Ikura (salmon fish roe $5) and another fish roe sushi
Not totally digging either of them… too much roe perhaps?
Unagi (eel) sushi; $3.00
Soft shell crab roll; $14.00
This was again, in line with the theme of giants, MASSIVE. I attempted to chow down a piece in my mouth and had trouble closing it, let alone chew the thing down. Ha!
Prawn tempura roll; $14.00
Ice cream: green tea and brown sugar(?); $1.00
Now that is one MIGHTY feast for three people (approximately $100), food comas all around that night.
