Banana Leaf, Adelaide

Another lunch outing with K sees us both at Banana Leaf where they have a $10 lunch special between 11:30am – 4:00pm. The restaurant is starting to fill up with the business lunch crowd and waiters are attending to them accordingly. We both get seated and are presented with our lunch menus. The deal is, a choice of one curry served with rice and papadum with the option of another dish whether it be another curry or vegetable dish for an additional $2.

Eggplant dish, Madras chicken, Lamb Korma served with rice and papadum; $2.00, $10.00 and $10.00.

I quite enjoyed the chicken dish, lots of flavour and the chicken was tender and soft – not dry and overcooked. The eggplant was a delight however I found the lamb korma to be gluggy and too rich and creamy for my taste.

Wow, what great value! I love curries – fantastic in the cold weather we’ve been having lately!
