Citi Zen, Adelaide

Sunday – rest day. What better way to spend it than with some friends at yum cha! Our group of 4 (NB: 3 females and 1 male), managed to annihilate 17 dishes and at least 10 pots of tea during the duration of 1 hour. Yes, we were hungry and on a mission! Ha! A mission to feed our tummies that is. Oh yum cha! How I have craved for thee for so long, my first yum cha of the year and we’re half way through already – and Citi Zen, it did not disappoint.

Crispy skin on the outside with a hot steamy succulent prawn filling in the centre. Delish!

citi zen, yum cha, tripe, chicken feet
Steamed tripe with ginger and chicken feet in black bean sauce

citi zen, yum cha, xiao long bao, pan fried buns
Xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and pan fried buns

I was very excited for these two dishes as I have been craving for both since my Sydney days and have finally found a place that makes these mean babies in Adelaide!

On average, a yum cha date for 2 sees me and plus one going through 6-7 dishes between ourselves, but between 4, we managed 17… that’s quite a mean feat right there! Yum cha, we shall meet again!

Oh Yum Cha – I’d somehow forgotten about it (!) What a great reminder. Your photography is lovely too.

Yum cha’s always great with the family and kids as serving sizes are small and there’s so many dishes to try! Thanks for dropping by. 🙂

Gorgeous. We take our kids to Citi-Zen for a treat when I take them into the city – this restuarant has been a fave of ours for yum cha for so many years now…

    Your photos are sensational.
