The Store, North Adelaide

the store, melbourne street, cafe

The Store is a bustling busy corner shop/cafe that is a favourite among the locals for a quick bite and/or coffee. The cafe also has a connected grocery store stocked with produce from local South Australian producers; a perfect place to do your grocery shopping and a perfect excuse to have a quick coffee 😉

the store, melbourne street, cafe, latte
Cafe latte and chai latte with loose leaves; $3.50 and $4.50

the store, melbourne street, cafe, salad, burger
The store beef burger with bacon, cheese, tomato chutney, aioli, greens and fries; $15.90

MASSIVE, and looks really really good. N struggles to finish it but is very satisfied by the offerings.

Warm chicken dukkah salad with roast pumpkin, braised fennel, baby spinach and fetta with a rosemary, roast garlic and lemon dressing, $18.90
LOVED this. The dressing was an explosion of blissful flavours – YUM YUM. A variety of textures, soft roast pumpkin and crunchy fennel won me over! I can’t wait to go back and have it again.. or maybe try something else. The char grilled lamb rump sounds like a sure winner as well!

I love this place! We seem to go seasonally (ie when the weather is good for sitting outside) for brunches – great atmosphere and I love browsing the grocery side. They do a great smoothie called a Crazy Monkey which is a banana smoothie with a shot of coffee. I’ve copied this at home and it’s a great way to get your healthy cool drink along with your hit of coffee!

Oh yum! That sounds like a great combo, will definitely keep it in mind next time I pay the Store another visit. Thanks!
