Lunch with the beautiful N at one of my favourite quirky cafes on the edge of the city: Tin Cat Cafe on Rundle St Kent Town. The cafe is full of patrons, notably all females… must’ve been a ladies day out and N and I to crash the party. Decor is quirky with a variety of mix’n’match furniture… there’s a certain charm about this place that I really like. 🙂 If you’re thinking of heading here for breakfast or lunch over the weekend, best to make a booking cause I’ve had trouble getting a table via walk-ins before!
Complimentary bread with soft butter and sea salt
Porcini and potato gnocchi, duck, green lentil and ricotta salata; $29.00
Chargrilled poussin, black truffle, parsnip, sweet muscat vinaigrette; $32.00
Yum, yum, yum and yum! I had the poussin (young chicken – less than 28 days old), the meat was moist and juicy… the accompanying elements on the plate were delightful too. The parsnip mash was delicious! I rate the parsnip mash over standard potato mash.. it was creamy, smooth and super sweet – and there was plenty of it too. Unfortunately or forunately, the menu at Tin Cat Cafe is seasonal so the chances of me getting this meal the next time I drop in is slim! 🙁 But hey, there’s something else delicious to try. I did grab a few bites from N’s gnocchi: little pillows of potato goodness… thumbs up from the both of us.
Good kitty kitty.
