Chocolatree, North Adelaide

Some hot chocolate to cap the night off after a satisfying and delicious meal.

chocolate tree
Some like it hot, hot dark chocolate with a pinch of chilli and cinnamon; $5.90

Smooth, velvety, rich chocolate with a hint of spice. Pretty damn good. *thumbs up*

chocolate tree
Strawberry chocolate fondue for 2; $22.00

Fresh juicy strawberries dunked in hot melted milk chocolate. So good… and kind of healthy too! ;)

Great location – just minutes away from the CBD, ample parking but limited seating. Best to get in early!

Went to chocolate tree after a great dinner out elsewhere. thought this would be a great place to end the evening. very disappointed, the place was packed, normally a good sign. we selected out hot chocolate and cake from a well used menu (nice to scratch and sniff what we’re about to eat!), unfortunately we had to find a seat out the back – this was far from the environment you’d expect for such a venue. basically crammed out the back with the pipes and left over building material of the venue, with a lame attempt to cover up with some cheap furniture or outdoor furniture. saying that the hot chocolate was very nice, not so sure about my cake – a chocolate mint mouse, something I could only take a few spoonfuls of, unheard of from me, a chocolate addict.
Won’t be going back and would not recommend to anyone. such a simple idea for something different in Adelaide, this is done so badly. I feel sorry for the people who work there, think the management only care about making a quick buck!

I’ve been here a few times after my initial visit. It’s not the greatest but sometimes it’s the convenience factor that draws me in: ppen late and easy parking. The food is a hit and miss and the service is mediocre at best. I’d drive the extra distance and get my chocolate fix at Steven ter Horst – seriously, they will not disappoint! :)

Thanks for the comment either way. :D
