Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar, Norwood

Who doesn’t love the idea of having a night in with a bunch of friends, pizza and a good movie? Crust Gourmet Pizza gave me just that with an ‘Ultimate Night In’ card. Thanks Crust Gourmet Pizza! 🙂

Ultimate Night In card, open kitchen at the Norwood branch, extensive toppings at the counter where people can watch their pizzas get put together.

The drive home was a bit of a torture cause C and I were both starving and could not wait to dig in. Once home, we rushed inside and opened up the pizza boxes, a few mandatory snaps and everyone dived in. It didn’t take long for the pizza slices to slowly disappear one by one.

Caesar salad: chicken, mixed leaf, bacon, parmesan, croutons with caesar dressing; $11.50

Something green and ‘healthy’ to balance our diet for the night ;). The salad dressing was mighty impressive, flavourful, creamy and tangy.

Cajun chicken pizza: cajun spiced chicken breast fillets, spanish onions, green capsicum, mushrooms, jalepenos, topped with peri peri sauce on a spicy tomato salsa base; L $21.00
Garlic prawn pizza: marinated tiger prawns, sun dried tomatoes, shallots, roasted capsicum, feta, garnished with fresh herbs and lemon on tomato base; L $22.00

Favourite pizza of the night was the cajun chicken. Generous toppings, crunchy base and lots of heat! Check out all those jalepenos, I’m salivating just thinking about it. Want a pizza with a bit of tang, crunch and punch? Go for the cajun chicken but eaters beware, if you can’t take your heat your lips may very well plump up… just a bit. 🙂

The prawn pizza was also delicious with a great balance of flavours and textures. Succulent prawns, sweet juicy sun dried tomatoes and soft feta with a squeeze of fresh lemon *drools*. Gourmet pizzas? I totally dig ’em!

There are three new Crust Gourmet Pizzas in South Australia: Norwood, Unley and Brighton. They have a huge variety of pizzas including healthier choice pizzas which have the heart foundation tick of approval and gluten free pizzas, calzones, salads, desserts and beverages; there’s something for everyone!

If you liked crust you should give Pizza Capers a go too! It’s just on the opposite side of the road to crust near the BP on The Parade. Talking about pizzas, La Trattoria (King William st) is pretty excellent and I’ve heard good things about Grumpy’s at Hahndorf as well.

    Keep up the good work!

      Hey K! 🙂

Yes I’ve had Pizza Capers and rate them highly too. Thanks for the suggestions, will look into it after upcoming events… after all, I still want to fit in my outfits on S’s big day 😉 !

We decided to give Crust a go and ordered half Margherita and half Prosciutto. We were bitterly disappointed with not only the price but certainly by the pizza itself. The base was dull and the toppings weren’t any better. We usually buy our pizzas from Pizza Capers and I can easily say we will continue to do so.
