Interior shot and cakes on display
I paid a second visit to Patisserie Jin with N over a weeknight to redeem a ‘Jump On It’ deal we purchased months ago which entitled 2 people to 2 desserts and 2 beverages. As many other buyers have commented on various sites, one being urbanspoon, the terms and conditions of the deal did not stipulate what days the deal could be used on. So much to our surprise, when we attempted to make a booking after the deal ended, we were told that it could only be redeemed on between Mondays-Wednesday (dodgy!). Not the most convenient of days hence our late visit to redeem the deal before it expired.
Specialty cakes in their cabinet (these cakes are not inclusive in our deal)
Now that that’s out of the way, onto my experience at Jin. My first experience with Jin wasn’t too shabby, but after reading reviews and hearing other peoples experience through word of mouth, I wasn’t expecting much. As expected, their presentation and decor is contemporary, clean and well thought out. They’ve got aesthetics down pat from the decor to their food!
Order’s in, first up, beverages:
Affogato, how cute is that spoon?!
White tea with a small almond cookie – a nice touch and leaves me wanting more *crunch crunch*
Strawberry crepes with strawberry ice cream; $12.00
The crepes are sweet but too soggy for my taste, aside from that, they are thin, chewy and tasty. The accompanying ice cream is a delight with strong hints of strawberry flavour.
Jin’s signature fondant with vanilla ice cream; $12.00
The chocolate fondant comes out in a cute dish. Once a spoon is put through it, the molten chocolate oozes out, it’s rich and not overly sweet. I’m giving it the thumbs up!
See what I mean by presentation? Why so pretty?
We left Jin satisfied and happy with our desserts. Surprised? I sure was. Pleasantly surprised. 🙂
