Steven ter Horst, Unley

Made my way back to Steven ter Horst last Friday and dragged Noms, P and big D along. Thought that they needed some fresh air, a coffee or two, and I secretly needed a nice chocolate hit too! 😛

Didn’t take any pics of their coffee but ‘OMG’, was it good?! It’s probably the smoooooothest coffee that I’ve had in a long time. So good that we ordered another one! :)~

Lemon macaron; $3.00
Hazelnut heaven: hazelnut praline mousse, currants in calvados bavarose with crunchy hazelnut base; $7.70
Lemon lust: lemon mousse dome, praline cream, cocoa sponge and toasted almonds; $7.70

Tried something different this time around – I chose the lemon lust cause it was so uberly pretty and shiny! Look at it’s glossy sheen in the first photo! 🙂 Tangy, light and fluffy with textural contrast from the sponge and toasted almonds. Can’t go wrong with the hazelnut heaven – it’s still my favourite from Steven ter Horst with the blackberry layered a close second!

I must have missed your arrival by about 5 minutes, cos the lady in your photo was served straight after me.
