Mum’s Kimchi, Adelaide

Readers, anyone know where I can get a decent serving of japchae aka Korean sweet potato noodles in the china town vicinity?!

I thought the task would be an easy one with the handful of Korean restaurants in china town but to our (C and myself) disappointment, we had trouble finding a place that had japchae!

Our hunger search was short lived due to our growling stomachs and we settled for something different. A cold and refreshing dish to combat the warm stifling weather. Japchae will just have to wait!

cold noodles, naeng myun
Naeng myun – Korean cold noodles: ice broth – buckwheat noodles, sauce, noodles, thin slices of beef, pickled cucumbers, pickled radishes and a half boiled egg with bean sprouts and kim chi side dishes; $9.00

Cool and refreshing dish with a generous serving of chewy thin noodles. I just wish that there was more meat! :)~

Seoul Restaurant has it, but it’s a bit further at Hyde St, between Flinders and Pirie.
Ga Bin at Grote and Morphett should have it, but friends don’t recommend it.

Thanks. We knew Seoul Restaurant had it but it was too much of a hassle to get there and yes, friends have told me not to check out Ga Bin either! Heh! 😀
