Au Matin Calme, Adelaide

After something sweet, some place quiet and a qui bit French? Why not head down to Hutt St and check out the French patisserie that is Au Matin Calme? The patisserie appears small downstairs but don’t be fooled. Once you make it up the flight of stairs, there are plenty of seating available with lots of natural light flooding in from the windows lighting up the area.

Decor (upstairs)

Creme brulee (large); $6.00
Buck wheat crepes: smoked salmon, avocado, sour cream and an egg; $11.50

Oh my, the creme brulee was DELISH! Thin crystallised sugar top, once cracked into revealed a soft, smooth and sweet creme custard. Although very good, I got half way and had to wave the white flag and admit defeat – there is only so much sweetness I can take! Best to order the small one, we only opted for the large one cause they ran out of small ones and thought we’d share but the owners were nice enough to give us a complimentary one! 🙂 Thanks!!
