A night out with the girls saw us heading to Barrio on Friday night making the decision to arrive early to avoid a massive line up and present an offering to the Barrio shrine to ensure speedy access into the late night club!
Line up for people for non ticket holders or for those without an offering to the shrine; a pile of old retro tvs
After waiting in line for over an hour, the doors finally open and our shrine offerings are our ticket to get in!
Barrio with shrine offerings placed inside each cylinder
Our shrine offerings: a jar of 3d ribbon stars, origami paper cranes and beaded earrings
Entering Barrio through the R
Barrio street posters scattered around the CBD on footpaths
Whilst waiting in line, the smell of grilled meats could be smelt wafting through the air so our first stop was the Senor BBQ stall!
Sizzle sizzle sizzle
Mix grill: beef ribs, chorizo, 2 chicken wings with salad and chimichurri; $22.00
Not only was the mix grill platter on the expensive side, the meat was overcooked, tough and dry. Our roaring bellies persevered and we gobbled this up in under 5 minutes. Now… off to quench our thirst!
Taquería (Taco shop) complete with a chihuahua shrine
Mexican red pickles and pickled onion
Lion head above the doorway proceeding into the Candy Bar; Candy Bar
Yours truly in front of a fun mirror;
Cocktails: My Little Pony: lychee and cherry bellini; $12.00
Strawberries and cream; $16.00
Cheers to the freakin’ weekend~
Spontaneity at its best! We leave Barrio and make our way to Hindley St to grab a karaoke room to belt out some tunes.. but before we do, we make a sudden pit stop!
Post to come. 😉
