Queen Street Cafe, Croydon

Queen Street Cafe has gone through a mini revamp and the best bit about it? They’re now open 7 days a week (previously Mondays and Tuesdays were closed)! Booya! 🙂

Open steak sandwich with spicy tomato sauce; $18.00

This time around, I opted for something from their lunch menu: the open steak sandwich and boy was it delish! Even though the bread was soggy from bread and melted cheese, I gladly mopped up the delicious sauce (so much tang and punch) and runny yolk from the poached egg. The beef was a little chewy but the other elements and flavours pretty much made up for it. Omnomnom~

Hi D. I’ve had that steak sandwich there too. I agree, it is delicious as is the avocado on rye for brekky.

I’ve still been meaning to try that! But the steak, chorizo or salmon options always wins me over. >.<

From memory, I don’t recall seeing a steak burger on their menu. The steak sandwich is great substitute though! 🙂
