Wasai, Adelaide

I sound like a broken record whenever I dine here so to change things up a bit, we thought we’d try something different from our usual sushi and sashimi boat!

Aburi salmon roll: California roll topped with lightly grilled salmon, mayonnaise and sweet soy sauce; $10.80
Yakiniku – grilled slices of marbled Angus beef served with our special yakiniku sauce and vegetables; $19.00
Katsudon: deep fried pork fillet with Japanese style omelette served on a bed of rice; $11.80

I found the yakiniku beef chewy but it had good flavour. Wasn’t too fond of the sauce – thought it was a bit too salty. The katsudon wasn’t that much better either. The porks crumbed skin was soggy and salty from the omelette that sat on top. Think we might have to stick with the classic favourites!

Definitely still one of the best Jap restaurants in Adelaide.
