Hello folks! I am still here, just been inundated with stuff at home and work so this post has been sitting on the back burner for a bit! But now that things are back on track for the meantime, I’m taking some time out to finish this off.
Bread with olive oil and balsamic sauce and spicy sun dried tomato oil
Caught up with the motley crew a few weeks back for a carb fix at the ever so popular: Enzo’s on Port Rd – bookings are recommended especially for large tables! Upon arrival, I am already a starving Marvin and start with the provided bread and dips (heh). That spicy sun dried tomato oil is divine, each piece of bread was soaked in that stuff and savoured with delight. So good!

Costolette d’agnello a Scottadito: Limestone Coast lamb cutlets char grilled, served with braised silver beet and potato; $36.50
Spaghetti al Sapore di Mare: fresh local seafood, light tomato, olive oil and garlic; $30.00
Linguine con Polpa di Granchio: blue swimmer crab meat, chilli and fresh tomato; $30.00
Fettuccine alla modal dell’Umbria: fresh fettuccine, soppressa (Italian sausage) local and imported mushrooms Italian truffle and cream; $26.50
Ravioli alla Bolognese: Enzo’s own meat filled ravioli with a Bolognese sauce; $21.50 entree size
I opted for their ravioli this time around; the entree size of the ravioli appeared small but boy did it fill me up or what! The bolognese sauce was seasoned well, the ravioli cooked al dente with a good amount of meat filling per ravioli. Not bad, but I think I prefer their other pasta dishes over this classic – the favourite being their Penne della cassia: chicken breast pieces, Napoletana sauce, avocado, pesto and cream.
Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals judging from the empty clean plates that were left behind. Good food, good company, good times.
