Birthday celebrations with a handful of my favourites before a night out in town to Barrio! 🙂
House baked rosemary and shallot loaf; $6.50
So warm and toasty with the crispy crust and cloud-like innards of the loaf oozing a hint of fragrant rosemary. Each piece was dipped in the accompaniments… that garlic oil was pretty damn tasty and that whipped butter with tomato crutomat… such bliss! Great start to dinner with better things to come.
Hand made gnocchi, roasted cauliflower, young sweet pea and white truffle; $16.50
This was DE-VINE! The general consensus around the table was that it was the best gnocchi that they’ve had to date! Big call… very big call! I really enjoyed the gnocchi but I think it rivals the one I had at Andre’s a few months back which I still rate highly and dream about every now and then. Mmmmm, gnocchi!
Charcuterie board: confit duck rillette, cornichons, parsley, caper berry salsa and free range chicken pate, passion fruit gel, pistachio and prosciutto di Parma, baked ricotta, mustard fruits; $18.50
220gm char grilled beef fillet, Café de Paris, smoked vine cherry tomatoes and watercress; $34.90
Truffle infused free range chicken breast, potato terrine, parma crisp, parmesan custard and micro herb salad; $32.50
Onkaparinga Fallow venison: pan seared Denver leg, shallots, hazelnut kohlrabi, parsnip crisps and juniper braised venison jus; $33.00
My meal of venison was delightful! The meat (cooked medium rare) was incredibly tender and soft and my favourite of the accompaniment out of the lot: the parsnip crisps were oh so delicate and crispy!
Tiger prawn and speck tagliatelle: house made narrow flat pasta with char grilled zucchini ribbons, preserved lemon and chardonnay verjus; $29.50
Leaf salad: petite garden vegetables, olive soil and citrus dressing; 10.50
