A quick and easy fuss free dinner at Nu Thai on Gouger Street was had with orders of classic favourites: Thai fried rice, roast duck curry and choo chee prawns; $22.90. Serving sizes are a lot smaller than what I was anticipating and the order of roast duck curry and choo chee prawns was probably a mistake on my part, only because they were basically cooked in the same sauce. Good punchy flavours but for the price tag attached and the small serving sizes, I’d rather head down the street and find something with more bang for my buck!

Chive and chilli scallops; $21.00
I ordered the chive and chilli scallops and what a winner it was! Plump juicy scallops with roe still attached sat on a bed of salad with segments of orange and grapefruit; fennel, endive and rocket – such a vibrant dish! The scallops were naturally sweet and were harmoniously paired with the fresh citrus salad and crunch from the fennel and rocket, a great balanced dish in terms of flavour and texture. I hope it stays on the menu for a bit longer so I can come back and order it again!
