Nord. The new hip burger joint in town. My advice. Get to it. STAT!
Seating bench area and hand wash area towards the back wall
On all my visits, there have been massive lines of patrons that have filed out their door. The burgers are super duperly good and people are onto it.
My pick from their burgers menu? The Nordburger (or the Mushroom burger) – depends on what kind of mood I’m in.
Nordburger with crinkle cut fries (S); $7.80 and $2.50
A simple classic styled burger done well. Extremely well.
A juicy beef patty with traditional favourites of pickles, tomato, lettuce, mustard, ketchup and nord sauce crafted between two perfectly toasted buns. And the best accompaniment with a burger? A side of crispy crinkle cut chips. There’s just something about them that makes them better than your standard chips!
My other favourite from their burger menu, the mushroom burger:
Mushroomburger and cheeseburger; $8.70 and $7.80
Vegetarians, you’re in for a real treat! Or carnivores who wanna mix things up, get the mushroomburger! The panko crumbed portobello mushroom was amazingly moreish with an earth shattering crunch and a juicy, meaty mushroom meat after each mouthful; there was also a handful of Doc’s coleslaw for extra crunch and juice along with a trio of sauces: mustard, ketchup and nord sauce. Deliciousness in your hands! As for the cheeseburger (beef, pickles, American cheese, mustard, ketchup, nord sauce)… think of a McDonalds cheeseburger… but even better.
Bacon-double with tater tots (S); $9.90 + $2.50
What happens if you’re a massive meat eater? Opt for the bacon double – double beef and double cheese with bacon, pickles, mustard, ketchup and nord sauce! That should surely satisfy your carnivorous hunger pangs. A side of tater tots went down a treat and helped balance out the meat/veggie ratio just nicely.
Nordburger also offers a small range of hotdogs but I’d stick to their burgers. You can then wash everything down with a soda and/or shake with classic favourite flavours of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ($6.80) or if you’re more of the adventurous type, they’ve got pretzel, cornflake, salted caramel or good ol’ peanut butter and jelly ($7.00).
Front counter, Nordburger bags, hand wash basin and Nordburger neon signage
Need to wash your hands after chowing down a burger and some crinkle cut fries when dining in? Head towards the back of the premises and take advantage of their concrete hand wash basin complete with hand soap and paper towels! Too easy.
