Bliss Organic Garden Cafe, Adelaide

I’ve always parked on and around the smaller streets around Gouger Street when making a pit stop to the Adelaide Central Market, getting my grub on at Wasai, spoiling myself for some yum cha or just eating or drinking around Chinatown. More often than not, I’ll walk past Bliss Organic Cafe on Compton Street and make a mental note to myself to check this place out. It took a while to get there, but finally (!), I managed to plan a quick mid week lunch date at Bliss. 🙂

Falafel burger: house-made falafel made out of organic chickpeas soaked overnight and hand-made the next day with fresh coriander and spices, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrot, alfalfa sprouts, house-made creamy hummus (made from chickpeas, olive oil from Tony Scarfo, lemon and spices), tomato sauce and house-made soy sugar-free mayonnaise, in an a rye bun; $15.00

My lunch date and I both ordered their healthy and humungous sized burgers, they both arrived tall and stacked with fresh and organic sourced produce with house made patties and sauces. I’m a big ‘sauce’ person and am usually the culprit in finishing off the 10c take away sauce packs before anyone’s hit the half way mark in their bucket of hot chips… and I am so that person who’s a double dipper. So… I would have liked to have more lots but not so much that it makes everything soggy and oozes out (picky, I know!) sauce/chutney/mayo or what have you on my burger cause it was all a bit too dry. Aside from the sauce to burger ratio not matching to my taste buds, the burgers were great! Simple flavours, fresh, snappy and crunchy veggie accompaniments all sandwiched between a slightly toasted rye bun. Gotta balance my bad but oh so good burgers and good healthy burgers ratio out! 😉
