Sydney bites: Sydney Fish Market, Chanoma Cafe, Seoul Ria and Adriano Zumbo

The concluding post to my Sydney get away; more tasty eats around the city of Sydney!

Fresh delights at the Sydney Fish Market:

sydney
Tuna and salmon sashimi at Peter’s Fish Market; sashimi tuna 114g $9.11 at $79.95 per/kg and sashimi salmon 100g $5.00 at $49.95 per/kg

Same order of fresh seafood from my previous visit with the inclusion of beer battered barramundi with a side of chips for mother bear. :)~

Green tea mandatory goodness from Chanoma Cafe!

sydney
Matcha soft serve float; $6.00

What I like to call this, green tea monstrosity! Or the technical term for it: matcha shiratam parfait; $9.50

A delicious concoction of matcha soft ice-cream, azuki red beans, cornflakes, rice cakes, fresh strawberries, chocolate Pocky sticks, chocolate wafer stick, ice and finished with whipped cream, green tea syrup, ice cream cone and a dusting of matcha powder. Phew!!! I’ll just let you marvel at the delicious mess whilst I count down the days til I get to smash another one of those down.. haha

After everything we ate on our trip, this was the one thing that mother bear misses the most from our trip! She’s got good taste. 🙂

Monster dinner feasting at one of my favourite Korean spots in Sydney, Seoul Ria.

sydney
Jjampon jeongol: spicy seafood hotpot with side dishes and japchae; $48.00 and $12.00

Spicy, runny nose goodness. The parentals loved it, looks like I’ll be taking them to more Korean late night feastings whilst back in Adelaide!

And the only way to conclude a Sydney trip? A stop over at Adriano Zumbo’s for some sweet treats to take home!

sydney
Zumbo cakes on display at their store in The Star, mango zonut; $5.00

I managed to pick up a few cakes, macs and zonuts home for some special people. The zonut, in comparison to the cronuts at Jennys Bakery was quite a let down as the pastry was a lot oilier, thicker and heavier than the ones we have in Adelaide. The flavour, however, was intense and strong, a huge smack of mango, a tangy sweet custard filling with a light coating of coconut flakes. Oh, they’ve also got a dessert train from Fridays to Sundays – which is now going on my to do list for my next visit. Think Sushi Train but with delicious sweets!
