Weekend bites: Ginza Japanese Restaurant and Pizza e Mozzarella Bar

All you can eat buffet for $29 per person? I think yes! Ginza Japanese Restaurant on Unley Road, offers a yakiniku (grilled meat) buffet or Japanese BBQ at only $29 per person for 2 hours on Sundays through to Thursdays. With over 50 dishes to choose from, there’s something for everyone.

The Stranger and I went and had a mighty feast ordering plates of marinated pork belly, ribs, beef and chicken as well as a number of seafood options like mussels, scallops, prawns and octopus. We ordered some sushi and veggies for that balanced diet and opted for some pumpkin, capsicum and side dishes of potato salad, seaweed salad and pickled vegetables like kim chi. Their dessert menu is limited with only two options, a piece of fresh fruit and/or a scoop of green tea ice cream with red bean paste, just enough to sate our sweet cravings as our waist lines were at full capacity!

Ginza Japanese Restaurant serves Japanese food a la carte in their formal dining area and towards the back houses the undercover outdoor area where the smoky yakiniku buffet is had. The dining area is extremely smoky from the grills with little ventilation so be prepared to walk out of the place smelling like a smoky grill! A cheap, quick and very filling meal, worth a visit if you haven’t been.
