Earlier in the year, I discovered the espresso martini at Cibo’s – out of all places! The cocktail is caffeinated, strong and boozy; but very easy to drink. The best ones… and most dangerous ones is when you can’t actually taste the booze – well that’s my preference anyway. 😉
Christmas came a little early when a sample Cocktail Kit package was delivered to me from Steve the Bartender – thank you! He’s the brains behind Cocktail Kit, Australia’s first cocktail subscription service. The sample cocktail kit came complete with all the ingredients needed to recreate the espresso martini along with a recipe card.
Here’s my attempt:
Not bad. The cocktail isn’t as dark as I wanted it to be and it was a little too diluted and ‘light’ on my part cause I struggled to pull the tin away form the boston glass after giving it a good shake, (the ice melted too quickly!). But at least I did get some froth out of it. I’m pretty surprised at how simple and easy it was to make… I might be rethinking about ordering this $20 cocktail when I’m out now… haha! So friends, it looks like more lazy night ins at mine with cocktails in hand. 😉
I was gifted the Sampler Monthly Cocktail Kit ($49 a month – cancel anytime) and the Bartenders Kit with all the equipment ($69) needed to become an amateur bartender at home! 😉
After something a bit more substantial and bigger? Why don’t you have a look at The Entertainer Cocktail Kit which includes the FULL BOTTLES of alcohol needed for the coctails, perfect for a party occasion. This could also be the perfect Christmas or birthday gift idea; they offer once-off purchases too so you don’t have to subscribe if you don’t want to. 😉
