Hello summer and hello outdoor summer sessions with your mates over a refreshing beverage and some funky tunes!
Meet the popular outdoor container bar: The Laneway Bar, and as the name suggests, yes, the bar does sit in a lane way just off Hindley Street. 🙂
I was invited to attend a private event – Laneway the Third opening party hosted by Girl About Town – awesome work as always, a few weeks back to see what the place had to offer. I was not disappointed. The outdoor bar oozed funky and cool in every nook and cranny of the place!
The multi level bar makes use of old shipping containers, old doors and window shutters, recycled materials, metal sheets and even a cast iron gate that acts as the entrance to the bar.
‘Second level’ bar over looking Hindley Street
Graffiti back drop in the laneway, local artist doing his thing drawing onto the black wall behind the stairs, container with a ‘window’ and seating overlooking the Laneway on the second level, DJ spinning tunes
Recycled steel rod light fixture
Delicious cocktails, boutique beers and ciders are on offer at the Laneway, and their popular fresh watermelon, pineapple and vodka are a hit too!
There is a bridge mid level which runs across the length of the bar connecting the second levels together from the front of the bar to the back. Taking the bridge will get one to the level that overlooks Hindley Street, staying put is the other container with a window so people can people watch down stairs… and up another flight of stairs is a secluded get away complete with dangling lights in jars, like fire flies at night. So cool!
The Laneway Bar is now in its third season/third year in lil ol’ Radelaide, referred to as ‘Laneway The Third, so get to it before they close up and you have to wait for ‘Laneway The Fourth’. Now that wouldn’t be fun would it? And the best part?! There’s no entry fee! BOOYEAH! 😉
Are you excited for the summer nights ahead?! I know I am. 🙂
