Top 10 list of favourite Adelaide eats/discoveries in 2014

Are you running out of places/ideas on where and what to eat? How about having a quick squiz though my 10 favourite eat out spots that we discovered or finally went to in 2014!

Alphabetically ordered.

360 Gradi

360 gradi pizza
Pizza half and half // capricciosa: tomato, mozzarella, ham, hot pepperoni, artichokes and mushrooms; sirio: tomato, mozzarella, capsicum, red onions and prosciutto crudo parma

Favourite, favourite… favourite wood oven pizza joint! I was never a huge fan of pizzas but this place has converted me. The bases are oh so thin and crispy, and the toppings are simple and full of flavour. I’ve heard that the service can be a hit and miss these days, so to avoid said service, maybe take away is the way to go – heh!

Bread & Bone Wood Grill

bread and bone wood grill
B & B burger

This burger joint is run by some of the same peeps from Press* – and with that alone, you know you won’t be disappointed with their goodies on offer! It’s location in between Leigh and Peel Street is pretty cool too. πŸ˜‰

Corner Store Cafe

corner store cafe dulwich
Eggs benedict with smoked salmon
Chilli and fennel fried eggs with Barossa Valley chorizo sausage, baby spinach and parmesan salad on toasted sour dough

A not so hidden gem no more. Corner Store Cafe in Dulwich promises great breakfast and lunch options as well as great coffee.

East End Cellars

east end cellars
Small ploughmans platter

Wine and cheese. Enough said. <3

Located in the heart of the CBD sits East End Cellars serving up platters of cheese and cold meats that you can enjoy with your choice of wine.

East End Providore

east end providore

European inspired Providore with freshly made to order brunch/lunch options, freshly squeezed juices, amazing coffee and the perfect city stop for fresh bread, produce and some gourmet goodies!

Hentley Farm Restaurant

hentley farm restaurant seppeltsfield
Mussel, kingfish, buttermilk, wild rice

Need a fancy place to take a special someone to celebrate? Hentley Farm Restaurant is the place to go for a beautiful degustation lunch that’ll fill you up so much that you and your company will be rolling out of the restaurant door! Along with the amazing food is the fabulous wine (should you get matching wines with said lunch) and the beautiful views.

Baked eggs salsicce

I don’t even know why it took me so long to get here, but I’m glad I finally made it! Best baked eggs in town. Best I tell you!

Parwana Afghan Restaurant

parwana afghan restaurant

Want to be a bit adventurous and try something different? Why not try Afghan cuisine? We tried it first hand at the super popular and packed to the rafters restaurant on Henley Beach Road and have been recommending our friends to go there ever since! The family run restaurant is homely, loud and the food is pretty damn delicious too. PS. they’ve opened up a second store in the city on Ebenezer Place called Kutchi Deli Parwana. πŸ˜‰

Ruby Red Flamingo

ruby red flamingo

Italian home style cooking. Favourite suspects ordered here: cannelloni verdi: the vegetarian cannelloni stuffed with spinach, pumpkin, mushroom, leek and asiago cheese and finished off with their tortino al cioccolato with wild berries and fresh cream. Think molten rich chocolate lava cakes… not one, but two! Perfect for sharing.

The Stranded Store

the stranded store
Ninos prosciutto

This gem is a bit of a trek to drive to from the north, but it was well worth it. Fresh and seasonal ingredients used, great coffee and there’s even alcohol served should one wish to start their day a little earlier! πŸ˜‰

Any gems you think we should know about for 2015? I’d love to know. πŸ™‚

Happy eating folks!
