Singaporean bites: Tori Q, Toast Box, Chinatown and Maxwell Food Centre

Our final day in Singapore revolved around snacking… and then plenty of walking off the snacks onwards to our next snacking destination… and so on, haha!

Our hit list was to eat all the things that we wanted to eat but have yet to… let’s see how well or poorly we went.

Tori Q

Piping hot yakitori sticks at Tori Q on Orchard Road. Golden, sticky glazed and fragrantly grilled skewers.

Chicken, pork meat balls (I think) and bacon wrapped asparagus… genius!

Toast Box

And of course, we couldn’t go to Singapore and not have some kaya toast!

These ice cream carts are dotted along Orchard Road and thankfully, we came across one that was open around lunch time!

One strawberry ripple ice cream sandwich please uncle! 😀

Delish! One of my favourite sweet snacks in Singapore.

After we were done with Orchard Road, we hailed a taxi and made our way to Chinatown one last time.

Maxwell Food Centre

One last stint at Maxwell Food Centre before we bidded farewell…

Fresh cockles at Rojak, Popiah and Cockle stall; $3.00SGD–a little déjà vu aye?

Popiah… which look so much nicer than to the ones we rolled the day earlier!

We did miss out on a few things… we missed out on satays and a grilled stingray. We just couldn’t fit anymore food in, as much as we tried and wanted to. Also, after a whirlwind and action packed trip, our bodies couldn’t keep up anymore with one of us hampered down by the end of the trip. At least it was towards the end of the trip and not the start!

Thank you Singapore, you have been great. And of course, thank you to Chowzter for a wonderful weekend, we had a blast and met so many great people!

Thanks again d for giving me another couple to put on my to-do list. We have four days there so I think we’ll have plenty of places to visit now. I am never good at trying to squeeze lots of food must-haves into my (not tiny) stomach space. My head does me in really quickly and I feel full way too quickly! 🙁

Oh I know the feeling. I never get through my list of must haves either, but I try! Hope you enjoy your holiday! 🙂
