Exciting times ahead for Adelaide this winter! Including the Liverpool FC vs. Adelaide United soccer match on July 20. This will be the first time Liverpool stops in Adelaide and Brisbane, taking on the Brisbane Roar just prior to the match at Adelaide Oval. With this highly anticipated match right around the corner, we were invited to celebrate the launch of a uniquely Australian beverage, Lemon Ed hard lemonade, and its official sponsorship of the 2015 Liverpool Australian Tour at The Republic in Norwood.
The new beverage (having made its debut in late 2014) is all Australian made, right down to the lemons. The lemons are grown in Queensland, the #2 growing region in Australia, then the rest is left to be brewed and crafted by winemakers at Step Road Winery, Langhorne Creek right here in South Australia. Bottled like beer and crafted like wine, yet the beverage company prides itself on the distinctiveness of the drink, simply calling it brewed hard lemonade. Think an alcoholic lemon squash – lemons, sugar, and yeast.
Distinct and unique, it was. Like nothing I’ve had before, it really tasted closer to pure lemon squash, with almost no trace of alcohol. Sweet, refreshing, and goes down easy. I imagine it would be a hit in the summer months! Be sure to check out the website for availability at your local bars. Try one and let me know what you think! (The RRP is $8.49 for 500mL or $20.00 for three 500mL bottles.)
