One of our favourite East End hang out spot when we’re just out and about is at the Tasting Room at East End Cellars on Vardon Ave. A really chill spot to just hang and chat over a glass of wine and if the stomach calls for it–which it usually does, a ploughmans platter or a toastie to go with the vino. 😉
Mushroom toastie; $8.00
Our favourite from their toasties menu is the marinated mushroom and smoked mozzarella toasted sandwich with juicy earthy mushrooms and a stringy stretchy melty and smoky mozzarella cheese. We asked for the inclusion of prosciutto but it was a no-go as substitutions and additions were not allowed, such a shame cause we were happy and willing to pay extra for the addition but they weren’t very flexible with the menu. Boo!
East End Cellars also offer other dishes like their popular ploughmans platter or single plates (soups, pate and toast), along with a large variety of wines to have on site or to purchase.
We collaborated with Hannah from Captura Photography for this blog post, so a huge thank you to her and these awesome photos. 🙂 She’s primarily a wedding photographer but will take on other side projects, just like this food blog! 🙂
