E for Ethel is a cute, quirky cafe and gift store owned and operated by sweethearts Daniel Harland and Amanda Matulick. The products they sell are Australian, handmade and sustainable and they’re huge supporters of everything good for you and our planet. As for the food? It’s simple, clean, locally sourced and full of yum!
As I’ve recently been acquainted to being a ‘lady of leisure’ so to speak, I took advantage of the weather and time and caught up with a foodie friend over a long lazy leisurely lunch at E for Ethel.
Juice and soy latte and a complimentary chocolate freckle – it’s the little things!
Avo smash quinoa, charred corn, cherry tomatoes and feta salsa on rye; $15.00
I couldn’t pass up the avo smash quinoa with charred corn, juicy sweet cherry tomatoes and a feta salsa on rye bread. Bright, vibrant, fresh and colourful; a pretty looking dish with bursts of flavour and layers of texture!
Mushroom bruschetta with rocket, prosciutto, dukkah and tomato relish on toasted rye; $16.00
The other meal that I was contemplating over was this beauty, thankfully great minds think alike and my foodie friend was tossing up between the same two so we ordered both and got to share. A bit more heavier and duller than my colourful plate but still a tasty one with juicy mushrooms and some crispy bacon.
Thinking of heading to E for Ethel? Keep your eyes peeled as it’s tucked away from the main streets adjacent to an undercover car park! Check out for the sign on the footpath and you won’t regret the little gem in North Adelaide.
