Summer time calls for balmy night outs and what’s more perfect than enjoying a drink whilst watching the sun set down on the city horizon on one of Adelaide’s hottest roof top bar: 2KW.
View of King William Street from roof top bar
We were invited to their new season cocktail launch a few weeks back with 2KW’s mixologists presenting us their new season list featuring exciting fresh flavours and textures.
Upon arrival, everyone was treated to 2KW’s signature cocktail called 2KW The Drink with gin, peach and apple; $19.00. A nice, light and sweet start to the evening before we were showcased to their new menu.

Here are the cocktails from their ‘Signature Cocktails’ range. The cocktails on display have all been inspired by South Australia, where they also celebrate our products, places and people that make our states identity.
The Jam Factory; $19.00
Straight from the Hahndorf strawberry patch to ‘The Jam Factory’ cocktail glass–jam in liquid form. The cocktail uses authentic Beerenberg strawberry jam, gin, lillet, elderflower and lemon.
The Kingscote; $19.00
A tribute to Kangaroo Islands unique bee colony; a concoction of Ligurian honey infused rum, lime and sugar.
Stormy like summer; $19.00
This one’s hot and spicy, it has chipotle infused tequila, green capsicum, parsley, lime and sugar. Looks more like a diluted green juice if you ask me, especially with all the veggies surrounding it on display, but I’m sure it packs a punch! 😉
Governors garden; $19.00
Such a pretty looking cocktail with vodka, honey, lemon and almond with floral aromas.
Maslin’s Beach; $19.00
Apparently the ‘Maslin’s Beach’ is guaranteed to want to make you get your gear off! 😛 A mix of coconut washed rum, apricot brand and lime.
Lofty lookout; $22.00
Like the view from Mt Lofty, this drink will elevate you to a higher plain with gin, lillet rose, blood orange and grapefruit. It was also the drink that I chose to have for the evening and it definitely gets the thumbs up from me! Gotta love me some gin. :)~
Some little bites to have along with our drinks to soak up some of that alcohol! 😉
Then we were shown their cocktail range from 2KW’s ‘What we’re drinking’ menu–late at night when all is complete, this is what you want to drink.
Cold drip negroni; $19.00
Gin, sweet vermouth, campari and cold drip coffee.
Whiskey smash; $22.00
Scotch whisky, ginger, lemon, mint and sugar. It almost looks like a mojito if you ask me!
Prosecco and peach purée.
Peanut old fashioned; $20.00
Peanut infused bourbon, chocolate bitters and sugar. Winner winner, chicken dinner. This was divine… considering that I was driving that evening, I resisted on ordering one for myself… now I need to go back and get me one of these. So good. Usually I find old fashioneds overwhelmingly strong, yet this one was nice and smooth with the most subtle hint of peanuts lingering through. Mmmm~
East 8 hold-up; $19.00
Vodka, aperol, lime, pineapple and passionfruit.
Pan am clipper; $19.00
Apple brandy, grenadine, lime and herbal liqueur.
Railway Station and Parliament House on North Tce.
The evening was all about their new cocktails, beautiful concoctions and some tasty boozy drinks to get you through the summer this year! The food will have to be for another visit! Have you been? What dishes do you recommend?
