Flavours of South Australia is the latest title in the Flavour of Series by Smudge Publishing and it’s now available just in time for Christmas! We were invited to the book launch back in November and got to have a sneak peek of the amazing book which showcases local restaurants, wineries, bars and producers with eloquent descriptions, beautiful photography, illustrated maps and recipes from some of SA’s top chefs so you can recreate the food at home. That’s right… recipes! Think chefs like Jock Zonfrillo from Orana, Jordan Theodoros from Peel St, Duncan Welgemoed from Africola and Sean Connolly from Sean’s Kitchen… and that’s just skimming the surface!
Just last week, the beautiful book landed on our doorstep and since then, we’ve been flicking through the pages, drooling at the drool worthy photos and making mental notes as to when to visit restaurants and cafes and when to make time to give the recipes a whirl at home. We’re looking to replicate the ‘Double Bacon Double Cheese Bread & Bone Burger’ soon… and by soon, I probably mean that we’ll be making our way to Bread and & Bone first… before we make it into the kitchen… haha!
Flavours of South Australia journeys from Adelaide’s dining hotspots to the world renowned wineries and producers of the Barossa, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley. The guide also includes quintessentially South Australian produce from the Southern Flinders Ranges, the Limestone Coast and the Eyre Peninsula.
The book features more than 130 amazing restaurants, bars, producers and winemakers from across the state including some of our favourites like Bread & Bone, East End Cellars, Sukhumvit Soi 38, Udaberri and Andre’s Cucina & Polentar Bar.
Flavours of South Australia is available for $80 at www.smudgeeats.com.au and other leading bookstores. The other titles in the series includes Flavours of Melbourne, Flavours of Sydney and Flavours of Queensland. It’ll be the perfect gift for your foodie loving friends and family, or the perfect gift for a visitor to take a bit of South Australia home with them. 🙂
