Pink Moon Saloon, Adelaide

The newest addition to Leigh Street is the cute and somewhat hidden bar and restaurant that goes by the name of Pink Moon Saloon. Blink and you’ll almost miss it! Unless there’s a small crowd out the front which piques your interest. 😉

The bar is narrow but runs deep with indoor and outdoor seating, bar stools along the wall and front bar, or get a group and snag a booth area towards the back. It’s warm and comforting and feels like you’re in a warm cabin somewhere amongst the mountains with the use of timber throughout the structure of the bar and of course, their furniture.

The menu is short but sweet and very very tasty.

Duck liver parfait, wood fired sour plum and toast; $15.00

The duck liver parfait didn’t get a second glance as we ordered it as soon as we saw it on the menu. LOOK at the blob of parfait. Rich and creamy with a sprinkle of rock salt and finished off with edible flowers and a pool of wood fired sour plum for a contrast in flavour and some crunchy toast. YUM! Go heavy on the parfait cause there was plenty of it to go around.

A monster sized club sandwich followed which was served with hand cut chips, preserves and condiments. Amazingly delicious with pickled cauliflower? Yes please. The hand cut chips at PMS… ha! was a winner too. A must order if you’re just dropping in for a tipple, seriously, the hand cut chips here, BOMB. Crispy, golden with a pillowy centre. Mmmm.

We’ve been back more than once and other tasty delights that we’ve had was their hot pastrami sandwich (order it!!!) and their ploughman’s platter for a nibble. Another winner in our books. A must visit, if not for their food, then at least for a chilled night out over a drink or two.
