Superb coffee and delicious, vibrant and fresh tasty food can be found at the little corner cafe on Vardon Avenue, Exchange Specialty Coffee in the east end of the CBD.
Coffee on point.
As for the food, the menu’s relatively small and succinct, but their offerings are delicious and packed with flavour and colour.
Ancient grain & vegetable salad; $16.00
The salad easily won me over on our visit because it had so many of my favourites! A rainbow combination of quinoa, chia seeds, Persian feta, broccolini, pumpkin, snow peas, corn, pomegranate, crispy kale chips, sweet lime & herb dressing. Delicious! A good variation of textures, colours and flavours. Loved the burst of sweetness from the corn and pomegranate as well as the crispy crunch from the kale chips. Mmmmm.
The Mexibreakfast was also quite the sight with avocado, pancetta, poached KI eggs, sweetcorn salsa, maasdam, smoky rojo, minted yoghurt on house made cornbread. Visually just as appetising as the salad, but we thought it wasn’t as tasty as the former. The cornbread being the least favourite as we found it to be super crumbly and soft, but that just boils down to personal preference. We would’ve been happy with slices of sourdough or rye bread but then that defeats the purpose of a Mexibreakfast right? 😛
Either way, come in quick and taste these babies before they change up the menu depending to seasonal produce. 😉
