When you’re invited to a soiree in the middle of the mall, you know the event will earn a fairly high rating on the glitz n’ glam scale. With a chic set-up, rich people canapés (AKA all the raw meats) and a red carpet ushering the who’s who of Adelaide into place, this pop-up bar certainly impressed. And what is the undeniably worthy cause for this shindig? That’s right… BOOZE.
The pop-up bar was celebrating the opening of The Twenty Third Street Distillery in Renmark and I, for one, am pretty excited about such a passionate and innovative company establishing itself in the heart of the Riverland.
With a delectable offering of gin, brandy and whisky, this new Renmark local is likely to shake up many peeps poison of choice. Their gin was exceptionally crisp and aromatic – totes a refreshing drop when served with your classic tonic.
One of the key motivations behind cranking up this new liquor locaish in rural Renmark was that the guts of the joint already existed in the form of an inactive distillery waiting to be put back in the game. The fact that they have taken something unloved and turned it into something to be proud of makes these beverages all the sweeter.
Thanks so much to D Bites for the invite to this killer event and please feel free to check out my own blog She Said What, for some more ramblings by yours truly.
Until next time… That’s what she said.
