Meet your new friendly and sweet neighbour on one of the coolest parts of town: 2nd & 6th on Peel Street, West End!
Open 7 days a week, 2nd & 6th will treat your tastebuds to a European brunch, lunch, desserts and when the night shenanigans kick off, drinks will be flowing from their bar with wines from across our state, country and Europe. The two level building is a welcome addition to the ever so popular and bustling Peel Street; the front facade of the eatery is framed in rich mahogany timber and accented with a rich green paint palette and gold accents in the form of their logo and light fixtures. Inside, Renaissance portraits hang on the walls with gold picture lights hung above to draw focus on the artwork and subtle caricature prints and the words ‘Gluttony‘ and ‘Sloth‘ printed on hanging mirrors. Which conveniently leads us onto the the name of the place, 2nd & 6th… no, we’re not on the corner of 2nd & 6th in New York, and no, the number (12) of the building has nothing to do with the name. 2nd & 6th actually references the 2nd and 6th sins from the 7 Deadly Sins: Gluttony and Sloth. Sins that owner Hugh Nguyen would want his customers to harbour whilst dining at his new venture. 😉
Below are some pics of the food we got to indulge at their preview launch a few weeks back.

2nd & 6th stands out from the crowd on Peel Street as it is open for breakfast and brunch everyday (7.30am-3pm), and transforms itself into a dessert and drinks bar come nightfall (Wed-Sun).
Gluttony is the excessive ongoing consumption of food or drink and ‘Sloth’ is the excessive laziness or the failure to act and utilise one’s talents. An aptly named eatery don’t you think? Very clever.
We look forward to exercising those 2 deadly sins over the summer break! 😉
